The five layers
- Bubble wrap against the surface, foam sheet over that, corrugated sheet for structure, a double-wall carton, and stretch film to seal it. Skip a layer and something arrives in pieces.
Televisions and monitors
- Screens travel upright, never flat, in a foam-lined box. If you kept the original box, keep it — nothing beats it.
Marble, granite and glass tops
- Edge protectors, then a wooden crate. These travel standing on edge, never flat — a flat slab cracks in the middle over a pothole.
Crockery and glass
- Each piece wrapped alone, plates on edge like records, glasses upright, and the box marked so it is never stacked under anything heavy.
What we ask you to carry yourself
- Jewellery, cash, documents, medicines, laptops and anything irreplaceable. No insurance replaces those.
